I recently crossed paths with a family of mice, unfortunately, in my garage. While this was no big surprise as I live in a home with a crawlspace, normally these little creatures only come out at night, hence, "Out of sight, out of mind." However, this family of mice were on a daytime outing and very much, "Not out of sight." This latest encounter brought to mind all the 'critters' that have chosen my crawlspace as a home over the years, everything from snakes to a colony of rats that completely destroyed my insulation. Having recently replaced the insulation, I decided to do something about it. I have seen the trucks with the black and white stripes a number of times in the past and I knew that their methods were humane and pet-safe. I called Wildlife Solutions and within a day Eben McDermott, Senior Project Administrator, inspected the interior and crawlspace of my home, performing a full analysis of my problem. He took the time to answer all of my questions and explained many of the habits of the animals with which they come in contact. Quite frankly I was intrigued with his vast knowledge and his willingness to take his time in answering all of my many questions. Upon his departure, I was confident that the process he described to 'critter-proof' my entire home would be second to none! I had the opportunity to meet several technicians while the work was being done on my home. All of these gentlemen were quite knowledgeable and polite. There was, however, one technician that really stood out. His name is Justin Thomas.   His tenacity to utilize the humane methods and practice the overall principles of Wildlife Solutions was reflected in his exemplary service. He responded to my home on the Fourth of July weekend just to check traps and I am grateful that he did, as there was a "collection" to be made. In speaking with this gentleman, it is clear that he is committed to doing the best job he possibly can in maintaining the highest principles of Wildlife Solutions. I am very grateful that I had such a wonderful crew working on my home in the less-than-ideal weather conditions we can all count on during the mid-summer months in the lowcountry of SC. I was going out of my mind with the rodents underneath and inside my mobile home. Every evening the scratching and gnawing sent me to bed earlier and earlier. I did not know where to turn. My son came for a visit and said he could smell urine and heard noises in the night. I either had to pack up and leave (not really an option), or find help. I looked in the phone book and called a couple of places, and then I called Wildlife Solutions. On July 9, Robert Hall came out to do the very thorough inspection and explained what needed to be done. Although I thought it was rather expensive I was desperate and gave the go ahead. It was worth every penny. Robert Hall, Dean Coffman and Chuck worked in the terrible heat to make sure that the problem would be solved. Not only that, they were professional, supportive, and showed their concern. They treated me as I think they would want someone to treat their grandmother. In other words they were the best. On Sunday February 4, 2007 our alarms were set off and the police arrived to assess the situation. They entered the building and counted three sets of eyes from raccoons... We called Wildlife Solutions and by 4:40 in the afternoon our "hero" arrived, Robert Hall. Robert knew we were in a bad way and in big need of help, especially since our budget is so limited. Adhereing to all of the solutions and recommendations, we also had to have a tree partially removed. We are happy to say today we are raccoon free and able to be of service to our patients!!! We recently discovered we had an uninvited houseguest under our home. I called the Florida Fish and Wildlife Services to ask whom to call to trap the critter. They gave me a few names and numbers. Mot one of then returned my call. I called back and they gave me a few more names with the same results. I then called every animal trapper in the yellow pages. Wildlife Solutions was the only company who responded. Within two days, Brett, our area technician, had the critter in his trap. Thank you Brett! First I would like to thank the men that came out to Hecks Haven, in Lake Charles La. after Rita came through. I can't remember all of their names, but they were a God sent.... Just wanted to say that Jason has done an excellent job of helping us address our rat infestation. Not only was he meticulous and methodical at trapping them and sealing our house's entry points, he has done an excellent job at educating me and my wife on the nature of the problem. Just a short note to tell you what an excellent job Jason did trapping our two opossums and squirrels. The traps were clean and the bait was changed every day, even when an animal was not caught. I knew there was an armadillo under the house but when the deck was stripped off to replace it, we discovered an Armadillo-dominium - a megaplex complete with movies, shopping, fine dining, tennis courts and a water park. Clent swore he would get his armadillo and, he did - along with 6 raccoons, three opossums, and a box turtle - all in unbaited traps. (The neighbors were relieved to know that the Terrifying Tortoise would no longer be lurking to leap out and frighten small children.) It has been a true Wildlife Adventure - with Trapper Clent as our guide. What a kind, patient young man he is. Your organization is to be complimented on the caliber of its employees.
